America’s Jubilee

Marietta, GA – America’s Jubilee

According to Old Testament scripture, every 7 years the economic cycle renews and every 7 cycles there is a “Jubilee” year where there is a reset.

So, applying our liberal arts math, we have experienced a type of cycle that repeats, “7 x 7 = 49 + 1 Jubilee Year”.  When we look back, we have averaged a recession and recovery period about 35 times in our country’s history.  Subtracting 1776 from 2021 we get 245 and dividing that by 7 the answer is 35. Very interesting.

Reading George Friedman’s “The Next 100 Years” I realize that America has also experienced economic Jubilee cycles that we can track.

1780       America’s Independence and Governance Formation

1830       Federal Reserve and National Fiscal Policy toward Nationalism

1880       Reconstruction and Western Expansion

1930       Great Depression and Industrialization (Factory Automation)

1980       Prosperity, Tax Reform, and Information Technology

2030       Great Reawakening and Reset being predicted.

As predicted by George Friedman, the next decade (2020-2030) will be huge. Our civic, economic, cultural, and technological cycles will all converge for a reset not only in America but the entire world.

Marietta, GA – Optimism

The pessimist sees difficulty in every opportunity.

The optimist see opportunity in every difficulty.

Winston Churchill

When we look for opportunities, we normally find it.

Isn’t it obvious that many great leaders spend less time whining and more time leading during difficult times?

Do What You Love

Marietta, GA – Do What You Love

Do what you love with people you love

This is a wonderful quote from the Oracle of Omaha, Warren Buffett.

My advice is to listen to Warren when he says that surrounding yourself with friends who you can share with is very important in being successful and happy.

You Become What You Think About

Cincinnati, OH – You Become What You Think About

How do you know “what” to do if you don’t know “what” you want?

Our mind is coded like a supercomputer to process the inputs that we give it.

It’s like the adage from my IBM days, Garbage in, garbage out.

George Fuechsel, an early IBM programmer and instructor, is generally given credit for coining the term. Fuechsel is said to have used “garbage in, garbage out” as a concise way of reminding his students that a computer just processes what it is given.

We make incremental changes to our activities to accomplish what we think about. Your internal compass will point you to what your thoughts direct you to do.

Fill your mind with good and you get it. Fill your mind with bad and you get that too.

Great quote from Thomas Paine

Cincinnati, OH – Great quote from Thomas Paine

The world is my country,

All mankind is my brethren,

And to do good is my religion.

Thomas Paine

American Revolution Period (1776 – 1783)

We contribute to our world when we think beyond our own self-interests and go bigger.

Help top off someone else’s batteries today and you will be blessed yourself. Try it.

What is demanded of us?

Cincinnati, OH – What is demanded of us?

A wonderful quote today from Micah in the Tanakh (Old Testament) that should encourage ACTION of you today.

O man, what is good, and what the Lord demands of you; but

to do justice,

to love kindness, and

to walk discreetly with your God.

Use your day to make good choices and contribute positive change for our world.
